God Cares about our Hearts’ Desires

When our older son was 12, there was a period of time when he longed to have a trampoline in our back yard. One day, when he returned from playing on one at a friend’s house he moaned, “I’m never going to have a trampoline.” We said, “Right!” It wasn’t in our budget, and we had some safety concerns also. We thought, “I wonder if we should pray about a trampoline;” but we did not pray.

That was Saturday. The next day, Sunday, some friends of ours came to us and said, “Our children no longer use our trampoline. Would you like it?”

The Lord heard and answered our hearts’ desire, even though we hadn’t prayed in so many words. And, by the way, it was top-of-the-line!
