ELIZABETH’S GOOD NEWS

How would you describe your Christianity? Is your faith something that gives you peace? Hope? Joy? Advent is a time for thinking about such questions; it is a time of preparation for the arrival of the greatest blessing of love ever given. Are you full of peace, hope, and joy this advent season?

Again this week we will experience a modern day telling of the story of Elizabeth, wife of Zechariah and mother-to-be of John the Baptist. We left Zechariah speechless after his encounter with Gabriel the angel, so now, the rest of the story . . . well, sort of. Scripture does not indicate how and when Zechariah told Elizabeth the message he received from Gabriel, so we can only imagine what happened.
