7/31/22 – Wisdom Extraordinaire

Have you ever heard of the children’s nursery rhyme about the wise old owl? It goes like this:

There was an owl liv’d in an oak,
The more he heard, the less he spoke
The less he spoke, the more he heard,
O, if men were all like that wise bird.

That version is 147 years old — maybe older! Why has it lasted so long? It resonates. We need wisdom! We are called by God to be wise. So where does wisdom originate? In God’s opinion, as expressed by Paul, wisdom begins by understanding its source. To listen to the words of the Bible is to “hear” God. When we take in God’s wisdom, it affects and molds our way of thinking. We become less prideful by listening to our Creator’s wisdom. That is the topic during Sunday worship at 10:30. Lemonade on the Lawn follows worship. Sunday School is at 9:15. There are some new things coming this fall! Join us in worship to hear about them. I can’t wait to see you!
