1/8/23 – Trusting God’s Promise

Following God by faith involves a few principles: trust in; relying on; standing upon; perseverance toward; committing to God’s promises. All of those words point to an assurance that something is going to happen. There are certain consumer products that make promises. For example: “We’ll leave the light on for you.” Recognize it? That commercial has been around for 37 years. That’s consistency! This week in the 10:30 Worship Service we talk about God’s Promise which was first spoken to Abraham. As we belong to Abraham’s family through faith, God’s Promise to Abraham also extends to us — a promise of blessing and purpose!

Sunday School resumes at 9:15 this Sunday, for all ages. All KIDS & YOUTH will meet together in the Children’s Wing for a special presentation about Epiphany, the time when the Wise Men brought gifts to Jesus, which happens on the twelfth day after Christmas. You are encouraged to start the New Year with a commitment to bring your children and youth to Sunday School–and yourself too! Adult Sunday School classes also resume this Sunday. I can’t wait to see you!
