4/2/23 – Making Our Lives a Hosanna

This Sunday is Palm Sunday, the first day of Holy Week. We celebrate Christ’s Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem.

Join us for Sunday School, for all ages, at 9:15 AM, in the education building. At 10:30 AM, join us for worship and to hear a message called “Making Our Lives a Hosanna” on Matthew 21:1-11 and Philippians 2:5-11 from Guest Minister, Rev. Dr. Julie Adkins.

Rev. Dr. Julie Adkins has been an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA) for 35+ years.  She holds the M. Div. from Princeton Seminary, where she focused in Preaching and Worship, studying with Tom Long; and the D. Min. from McCormick. She has served several small and mid-size churches in Texas, and currently serves as pulpit supply in a number of small churches in Grace Presbytery.

If you have children, we encourage you to bring them to both Sunday School and the Worship Service this week. We have some special things for our kids and we don’t want yours to miss out! This Sunday, we will begin the service with a processional of our kids waving palm branches while the congregation sings “Hosanna, Loud Hosanna.” Later in the service, our kids will play cajón to accompany the song “Save Me” by Bob Bennett.

Also on Sunday:

  • We will be collecting candy to fill eggs for our annual Easter Egg Hunt – this is the last Sunday! Let’s bless our kids!
  • Sunday is also the final day to order your lilies for Easter – help us make the church beautiful!
  • We encourage you to sign up for our Holy Saturday Prayer Vigil! You can sign up in-person in the church narthex, or online here. We still have 4.5 hours of prayer (9 30-minute time slots) to fill. You are welcome to sign up for as many as you would like.

Have a blessed weekend!
Jennifer
