Hillsong, the Australian praise and worship team, sing a song called “The Power of Your Love.” The lyrics include this: Lord I come to You. Let my heart be changed, renewed . . . Lord I’ve come to know the weaknesses I see in me will be stripped away, by the power of Your love. Jesus’ love has unfailing power. How is that power at work? It all begins with a command: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. Commit yourselves wholeheartedly to this.” Moses first wrote this command, and Jesus said this is the most important commandment. He adds a second one, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” No one ever connected these two commands until Jesus did it.
So how do we manage to love God wholeheartedly? That’s the topic for Sunday Worship at 10:30. Following worship, join us in the Fellowship Hall for the FIRST POTLUCK since the pandemic began! Bring a dish to share. Sunday School begins at 9:15 for all ages. Then worship. Then lunch! I can’t wait to see you!
