Prophecy on Palm Sunday

April 9 2017

Series: Holy Week 2017

Book: John

We have walked with Jesus for five weeks by coming to WOW, and going deeper into His story. In the Bible, God continually says, “Remember.” Life with Christ involves remembering God’s story and living into it ourselves. It is a story of hopes fulfilled and fears overcome. “The hopes and fears of all the years are met in Thee…” Whatever your hopes and fears, the Lord meets you there.

Palm Sunday, Matthew and Rylee Reed lead the children in a Palm Sunday Poem, after all the children reenact Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem.

This week, led by the choir, we will celebrate the Passover meal which Christians call the Lord’s Last Supper at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary, connecting ourselves with thousands of believers who gather the night he was betrayed. Then Friday at 7 p.m. the remembering continues around the cross, which culminates in following the cross outside, placing it in the ground, and singing “The Old Rugged Cross.” But the story does not end there.

Saturday the sanctuary is open from 6 am to midnight for prayer. You must sign up in the foyer! At 6:45 a.m. we gather on the patio to remember how at sunrise the women went to the tomb to anoint Jesus’ body with spices. But He was not there! Following that Sunrise Service we eat breakfast, followed by an Easter Egg Hunt for the children. Our celebration of the Resurrection continues in the sanctuary at 10:30 a.m. with a GRAND STORYTELLING of Jesus’ resurrection appearances. Join us and REMEMBER. “The hopes and fears of all the years are met in Jesus…” Let the remembering begin!
