Trust God with the Outcome

Book: 1 Kings

You might remember that old song by Paul Simon: “Hear my words that I might teach you, Take my arms that I might reach you.” But my words like silent raindrops fell, And echoed in the wells of silence. The song’s lyrics capture the silence that occurs whether there’s literal silence or just people not listening to one another.

How is your experience of being heard or of listening to others these days?

Some say ‘talk is cheap.’ Perhaps it is, but it seems that if we talk to have a conversation, it becomes more meaningful. Elijah was “talked to” by Jezebel. “I’m going to kill you by sundown!” Those words cast fear into him and he ran for days, finally to God’s mountain, seeking answers. God did not disappoint. God spoke, even in the silence. This week we talk about how to hear God even in the silence. It’s a message you might want to hear! Sunday School at 9:15 and Worship Service at 10:30. I can’t wait to see you!
