This is the third week of Advent, the time of preparation for Jesus’ birth. Each week we have studied a person who held a key role in our Savior’s birth. This week we look at Joseph. Joseph was engaged to Mary, and boy was he in for a surprise during his engagement. Like other key players, he was also helped by an angel, with the result that Joseph said “yes” to God. Without Joseph, Jesus would not have grown up in a family with a mother and a father. Joseph helps us understand so much about God’s love, care, and provision for Jesus as he lived on this earth.
