Our Choir

The choir, led by Steve Bayless and accompanied by pianist Steve Innis,  sings  each Sunday to direct our attention to the Lord, prepare out hearts and minds for worship, and help us focus on the theme for the day. If you have a hankering to "make a joyful noise", stop in on their rehearsals in  the sanctuary on Sunday mornings at 8:15 AM.

Songs and hymns

Worship often begins with a few "gathering songs" selected from popular Christian songs and choruses. The hymns we sing are chosen from The Presbyterian Hymnal.  Occasionally we dedicate the entire time of worship to praising God through music. What songs stir your spirit or calm it so that you can rejoice or meditate on the majesty and wonder of Jesus Christ? Let us know!

Prayer

Prayer is, quite simply, our conversations with the unseen God. In worship, we pray together as a reflection of our unity in Christ. In prayer, we confess our sins, express our love and thanks to God, and ask Him to be the provider of all that we need in life. Talk to Him! He's listening.

Scripture readings

The Bible is the written record of God's relationship with humanity and the fulfillment of His promise to rescue us from sin and punishment. Every Sunday, we read passages from Scripture specified by the Lectionary. If you're not reading God's Word on a regular basis, you can use these organized readings to guide you each day into a deeper knowledge of the Bible. God wants to get a message across to you!

Communion

On the first Sunday of every month, our congregation shares in the Communion meal. When we do this simple act of eating a small piece of a loaf of bread and drinking a little grape juice poured from a pitcher, we're saying "Jesus was sacrificed so that God could forgive our sins." It's also a reminder of His promise that one day we will sit down with Him and eat together in the Kingdom of God when all of His work is finished.
