Overcoming Strongholds

Bible Text: 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 | Speaker: Rev. Dr. Ginger Hertenstein | Series: Why Pray?

For years Israel was given the promise of land, but when they got to the edge of it, they found that it was filled with giants–or at least they looked like it! The people of Israel already owned the Promised Land, but now they had to fight and conquer to actually possess it. It took great faith and courage.

In the same way, as believers we are given “territory” which we have to fight and occupy. That territory is to bring the knowledge of God and God’s heavenly realm right here into our daily, physical lives. Conquering this territory gives us the opportunity to grow much stronger. We discover extraordinary riches in place of the false hopes of the world. We replace grasping for things that do not last with a relationship that overcomes the struggles of life. That’s the topic of discussion during worship as we continue our series called Why Pray? Sunday School begins at 9:15 for all ages. I can’t wait to see you!
