Apples, serpents, a garden and a couple. Just a few words bring that famous story to mind. The fall of humans may be told in the manner of a tale, but I think we can all certainly understand what it is to be tempted. Temptation seems to come into life on a regular basis!

When we think of God we often find ourselves held in a tension between desiring to know God and running to hide from God. This reflects so much of what that first couple experienced. Faith is learning to live in the tension – learning to know and love God in the midst of temptation. The story teaches us so much about ourselves and how to navigate our way in those hard times, and how to see the mercy of God, even when we fail Him.

Come to worship Sunday and hear a modern-day version of that garden conversation with Dave Bolles and Ginger Hertenstein. 10:30. See you there!
