5/11/14 – God’s Mandate for Human Beings

2014-05-11 Worship from Duncanville Presbyterian on Vimeo.

Remember the nursery rhyme, “Mary, Mary quite contrary, how does your garden grow? With silver bells, and cockle shells, and so my garden grows.” Does a garden grow by itself? Not in my yard! A garden has to be cultivated. The word culture is from cultivation—helping things grow. Like agriculture-the culture of the field. It’s what you do that makes it happen.

God is interested in humans doing what we do to make culture grow. God invites us into using our skills and talents to create our communities from the very beginning. In that way we reflect God’s creative nature. God blesses us by saying, “Prosper! Reproduce! Fill the earth! Take charge! Be responsible for all that lives in this world!” We talk about that wonderful blessing in Sunday’s worship at 10:30. Sunday school begins at 9:15 for all ages. Can’t wait to see you!
