Do you think people should be held accountable for their actions? What about moral accountability? Or administrative, political, managerial, and market accountability? Then there’s judicial and professional accountability. Who should set the standard of accountability? And, who should determine the relevance of the excuses, justifications, rationalizations, and apologies that people use when they do not live up? Whew, sounds complicated, doesn’t it?

Sunday we talk about Amos, a book of the Bible which is all about accountability. Amos was a prophet. Though prophets are not particularly popular, they have some informative things to say about accountability. And, if you look closely, you might find some much-needed wisdom for today. A new “Basics” Sunday School class has started for those who have never studied the Bible – 9:15 in the Library. Children meet for practice at 9:15 for the Christmas musical. Join us! Let’s be accountable to  learn and be blessed. I can’t wait to see you!

READ Amos 3-5 and Hebrews 12:1-16.
