April 5, 2009 – Sheer Devotion, Absolute Love

Holy Week begins. Think back through the Gospel of Luke and ponder the calling of Jesus. God’s intricately laid plans for Jesus miraculously unfolded from an early age. At the right time, His ministry began. God witnessed to Jesus in that Voice that spoke divine favor, the miracles that Jesus performed, and the power of His words.

Sunday we will look at the crisis point of His ministry – the cross – where we see the culmination of the devotion of Jesus to His call. Jesus held firmly to God and to God’s plan. That points to an incredible bond of love and trust between Father and Son.  How does this encourage our own sense of trust in God’s plan and our commitment to the call to share that good news with others?
